The StoryThe story of this world began thousands of years ago, when only two beings existed, Lord Adaroth and Lady Evelyn, the immortal Gods of Anaria. In the beginning they were alone living in a shadowed world of all that had been created; a desolate realm of peace and possibility. However, Evelyn did not like the loneliness of the world, being frozen in time, and longed for more... Whereas Adaroth reveled in the peace that nothingness and darkness provided. In these dark days Evelyn brought light to the world, and with it came life. She created great masterpieces of plants, animals and people, embodying what the realm of Anaria is today. She worked tirelessly and the more she made, the more fulfilled she became. On the contrary, Lord Adaroth was miserable, finding the chaos of the uncontrolled creation process too much to bear and strived to bring darkness and stillness back to the world. I usually wait for a good game to go on sale. But, this looked promising so I took a chance.Worth every penny! Do not hesitate to buy. The Developers deserve our support with this one, they have done a great job.. WONT EVEN LOAD PROPERLY! IVE HAD NOTHING BUT ISSUES WITH THIS GAME PLEASE FIX. This game is♥♥♥♥♥. Personally, I feel like this should have been an early access release as it has a lot of potential but I just can't recommend it in it's current state. I feel bad giving this a negative review as I appreciate this was made by a small team who have put a lot of effort into it but there are just too many negatives for me to recommend people pick it up. Let's start with the positives:- Decent level environments and graphics - Great level of interactivity. There are a lot of small details, like being able to play fetch with the dog or cook a steak, that really add to the immersion- Voice acting not too bad for a low budget game. Some voices are great and others are laughable (but that's the case for even greats like Skyrim.- Good music in places- I like the rhyme door puzzles.Now the negatives:- Combat has no weight to it and about 50% of my attacks didn't even land..or at least feel like they don't as the enemies barely react to getting hit. The enemy animations are very stiff and they usually do one or two of the same attacks that are painfully easy to block. I was really impressed a bit later in the game when I first fought a skeleton, as they were chaining multiple attacks together, which felt much more like a fight. Then I quickly realized they just chained together the exact same 3 moves over and over again. - AI is very dumb. This ties into the above but there were plenty of times where enemies didn't even react to me, even when standing 5 feet from them. Projectile based enemies just stand on the spot and keep shooting at you until you hit them with about 7 arrows. - The vast majority of the gameplay revolves around looting and finding runes. I thought that this was just for the opening of the game but it turns out each of the environments have loads of runes that you need to find to progress. These are hidden in trees, or on top of buildings, hidden in locked chests etc and it gets painful tedious, even by the end of the first area in the game. I would happily have paid for the game, even if it was half as long, if it had much better combat and a third of the rune finding\/looting. This game is marketed as more of an action rpg but it's really more a looting game with some mediocre combat thrown in. Games like Gladius and especially Blade and Scorcery have really upped the anti and raised expectations for melee combat in games and those were both done by a single developer.- Tacked on RPG mechanics. - so so storyAll in all, this game does have a lot of potential. The environments, graphics, interactivity and so on are a good starting point for a great game. It just needs to seriously work on amping up the action\/combat, reducing the reliance on finding runes\/looting and balancing. If this game had blade and sorcery's combat, AI and physics and focused more on the action than runes then it would be a classic VR experience. I hope the devs take this as constructive criticism and not as a rant. I really do respect what you tried to achieve and was really looking forward to the game. I just feel like it needed a lot more time in the oven before release. Fingers crossed you've made enough form sales to really invest in the game and\/or your next project.. I give it a 6.5/10. This is tough one. There is a lot of positives and negatives about this game.The Good:- Good graphics- Interesting level design.- Good climbing mechanics.- Some very cool interactivity gimmicks.The Bad:- Poor melee combat (okay ranged combat - the throwing AXE is really well done though).- Poor voice acting & stiff animations.- All the cool interactivity gimmicks have no meaningful purpose in terms gameplay mechanics or plot.So I enjoyed this game and got almost 5 hours out of it on my first play-through. As such, it almost meets my criteria of $5/hr of gameplay for a good VR title, but not quite. If you expect a longer game, this is not the one for you.What this game feels like is that it's full of undelivered potential. With a few patches, this game could become something really special. But as is, its a 6.5/10. I would recommended it for VR dungeon style adventure enthusiasts like me, but it's tough to recommend as a must buy.. This is a good and enjoyable indie RPG.Yes, the lengthy loading time is a relatively big issue, the graphics are outdated and the story is very basic, but this does not impact the fact that this is a good indie game. The level of interaction with objects is not one that I have seen in a lot of VR games; additionally its atmosphere and combat system are way above average. Moreover, the developer has clearly made an effort to build a lore and background for his world, which is something that a lot of indie developers do not bother doing. I am not sure why is there hate towards this game; yes it is not a triple A game but it clearly stands above a lot of its counterparts in the steam library. VR is still in its infancy and its software stands on the shoulders of indie developers; and so I think that VR gamers should show VR devs a little bit more support and encouragement than this. I am having a great time with this game and I recommend it.. frankly i would not recommend this game in the slightest. this game was a total let down due to the lack of content. i beat the game in 3 hours and half of that was me just screwing around exploring. I'm quite disappointed i paid $20 for this and I can't even return it now.. I genuinely loved this game. Mostly because you can play with the best dog ever. But really, the mechanics are solid. The story keeps you going. And the interactions are amazing. You'll hear people talk about how the interactions don't mean anything and disappear as the game goes on...and they aren't wrong. But they're just so good. And each new area will bring a new interaction or two that will just make you smile or blow your mind.The game is short, probably around 2 hours, but there's just too much to love here for me not to recommend it. A very solid entry into what a VR RPG should be.. It's taken us testing everyday since last week to even solve the current issue in the game and we wouldn't want to release the game to you guys until we've made sure everything else is working as it should. It's been very difficult to solve as the problem only occurs for some players, and even for those players it doesn't consistently happen. We really hate to postpone as so many of you are eager to play, but we are closer then we were last week. Loading Fix Question: Hey Guys,So we know that some players are getting a loading issue where after leaving a scene the screen just goes black. We've also heard from some players that pressing ALT-TAB, or minimizing then maximizing the screen when this happens allows the loading to start working again.
